As the motor wears, these pistons will wear on their sides naturally, saving the rotor casing from wear. As a result, you will get weak performance. By replacing these pistons, you will realign the pistons with the seals, and gain power.
This repair should be done in combination with a new air distributor, RP6-12999.
As with all air operated devices, we recommend periodically checking to make sure your lubricator/oiler is functioning and full of oil. By doing this, it will help prevent premature part failure.
